Make one from North Korea and you will!Make one from North Korea and you will!

In a rare occasion where international journalists were invited to North Korea to cover a week long celebration commemorating the 65th Anniversary of the Workers Party, CNN correspondent Alina Cho got a chance to speak to the public, albeit being watched 24/7. She says, “Most notably, in a country closed off to the rest of the world, North Koreans are now talking on cell phones. This girl says everyone in her family has one. But international calls are forbidden. Word is, punishable by death.”

A dated piece by The Daily Mail reports the execution of a North Korean factory boss for making international calls. That was during Dictator Kim Jong-II’s regime. Although his son will be soon taking over, these harsh policies are expected to continue.
