Introductory Energy Regulatory Training course

LIRNEasia conducted an “Introductory Energy Regulatory Training Course” from 20-24 May 2014. The course was conducted on the requirement of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL). The course was held at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA). The participants were a mix of senior and mid-level personnel from PUCSL, the utilities; Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and Lanka Electricity Company (LECO) and the Ministry of Finance, Sri Lanka.

In addition to attending the lectures, the participants were required to work through a case study which examined a price review in a regulated industry. The course concluded with a mock hearing where the participants, as “industry stakeholders”, used the material from the lectures to make their case to “a regulatory commission”.

The course agenda and material can be accessed HERE.
