CEO Helani Galpaya participated (virtually) in a panel titled “Demonstrating the Power of Private Sector Data for Sustainable Development” at the UN World Data Forum 2023 currently taking place in Hangzhou, China (and online/hybrid).
The panel was moderated by Tom Orrel (Managing Director, DataReady) and focused on the challenges and possibilities of public-private-civil society partnerships that enabled the use of data to monitor and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The other speakers on the panel were Philipp Schonrock (Executive Director, Cepei), Leonida Muktu (Research & AI Lead, Local Development Research Institute), Hernan Munoz (Research Associate, Cepei) and Maurice McNaughton (Director, Center of Excellence for IT-enabled Business Innovation, University of the West Indies).
The panellists focused on findings from an ongoing project that maps various data partnerships in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Helani was also invited to speak in the High-Level Panel on Thematic Area 4: Emerging Trends and Partnerships to Develop the Data Ecosystem on Thursday 27th but will be unable to participate due to her inability to attend in person.
