Posted by on July 8, 2024  /  0 Comments

The FutureWORKS Asia project is an initiative aimed at fostering high-quality, policy-relevant research on the evolving world of work in Asia, with a particular focus on gender, equity, and inclusion. The project seeks to address critical issues such as advancements in digital technology (particularly AI), climate change, the climate transition, demographic shifts, and globalization. These megatrends are reshaping job markets, disrupting traditional employment patterns, and exacerbating inequalities. Through comprehensive and diverse research approaches, FutureWORKS Asia aims to provide solutions to these pressing challenges.

On 07th of June 2024, the Call for Proposals (CFP) was published, inviting researchers to submit their proposals for this significant opportunity. For more details on the CFP, you can access it here.

Information Session on the Call for Papers

To support potential applicants and clarify any doubts they might have about the project and the call, an Information Session was organized on the 1st of July via Zoom. This interactive session aimed to provide comprehensive insights into the FutureWORKS Asia project and the application process.

The session commenced with an introduction to the FutureWORKS Asia project by Helani Galpaya, CEO of LIRNEasia. This was followed by a detailed presentation of the CFP by Ayesha Zainudeen, Senior Research Manager at LIRNEasia. The session also included a short but insightful presentation on Gender, Inclusion, and Equality by Kékéli Kpognon of Gender at Work.

The highlight of the session was the Q&A segment, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions about various aspects of the call. The questions covered a range of topics, including eligibility criteria, the application process, and specific requirements of the call. The questions and answers provided by the organizers were documented and have been published on the FutureWORKS Asia official page. You can access the compiled questions and answers here.

We would like to remind all potential applicants that the deadline for the submission of proposals is July 19th. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to shaping the future of work in Asia.
