Manique Gunaratne is the Manager at the Specialised Training and Disability Resource Centre of the Employers’ Federation of Ceylon. She has promoted inclusive economic development in all corners of Sri Lanka, creating long term sustainable employment and livelihoods for persons with disabilities.
Manique’s dedicated work has been recognized nationally and internationally for playing a major role in advocating and lobbying for the rights of persons with disabilities. She has received 8 national awards and 2 international awards for the services rendered to the disability community and for her professional achievements. Manique has also represented Sri Lanka numerous times at various conferences, training sessions, seminars, and workshops.
She also acts as the Vice Chairperson of the South Asian Disability Forum, a founding member of the South Asian Women with Disabilities Network and member of the Asia Pacific Women with Disabilities United. She is an International Trainer in Cisco qualifications and a Supported Employment Officer qualified from the Northern Ireland Union of Supported Employment. Manique is a resource person and public speaker, creating awareness on disability at major forums and media, being instrumental in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities in the local and global sphere.
