Will connected society replace Wikileaks?

More the societies get connected, more the whistle-blowers like Wikileaks will become unimportant. Because the digital mavericks will be powered by the smart devices and ubiquitous networks to share all forms of information. Millions of Assanges will  pop up here and there. Call them Citizen Journalists or whatever. The walls will keep collapsing around the gardens. Telecomasia reports.

  1. Thanks for this. For sometime now, I have been wondering if Public Interest Geeks (which unfortunately abbreviates as PIGs – sorry!) would help unleash the true social potential of ICTs. After watching the impact of WikiLeaks, I’m more hopeful, but as you say, this is only a transitory phase. There will soon be a million Assanges. That’s a million (good) PIGs who can give nightmares to all those in authority who seek to control the flow of information.
