Day 4 - The Panel

The four-day course on how to engage in broadband policy and regulation included as one of its most important elements a team project. Each team was asked to make evidence-based presentations that we hoped would form the basis for a public consultation organized by the Ministry of Telecom and Digital Infrastructure. The teams were assigned different aspects:
1. Affordable broadband of adequate quality throughout Sri Lanka
2. Services and applications that are of value to Sri Lankan users
3. Trust and security
4. Affordable terminal devices that all can use, with special attention being paid the elderly and the differently abled
5. Skilled users

The links to the presentations are under Day 4 in the course page. What is seen above, in the top picture, is the Secretary of the Ministry of Telecom and Digital Infrastructure, Mr Wasantha Deshapriya, and the CEO of the ICT Agency, Mr Muhunthan Canagey, listening to a presentation. With them are LIRNEasia CEO Helani Galpaya and Team Leader of the Human Capital Research Program Dr Sujata Gamage.

In the picture below Mr Isura Silva of Sarvodaya Fusion is making the presentation on broadband access issues.
