Helani Galpaya is part of global set of experts who were asked to sit on the Expert Group for the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) which will be held in New York in 2023 March.
The priority theme of the forthcoming CSW will be “Innovation and technological change, and education in the digital age for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls’.
The Expert Group is playing a critical role in informing the substantive preparations for the session. Recently, Helani participated in a two day meeting/consultation which brought together the expert group members to discuss key recommendations to be put to the CSW. Helani and Senior Research Manager Ayesha Zainudeen are also working on a background paper which will be part of the form documents of CSW.
