Suhail Sinnalebbe

Researcher

Suhail is a Researcher at LIRNEasia. His current work includes research design for projects on AI governance and online misinformation. As part of UNESCO’s Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM) project, he is developing a sampling framework and composition matrix for focus group discussions across Sri Lanka to ensure inclusive and meaningful representation of diverse communities in assessing the country’s AI readiness. He is also contributing to a project on misinformation by developing an ethical risk assessment framework for qualitative research involving political content creators.

Prior to joining LIRNEasia, Suhail spent over a decade in Malaysia leading executive education and capability development initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region with REDmoney Group, Jacob Fleming Asia and the Malaysian Centre for Business Innovation and Excellence. He designed and delivered professional development programmes on sustainability, financial technology and risk management while working closely with industry stakeholders to translate emerging research and regulatory developments into practical learning and organizational capability building. He also served as Deputy Leader of the Competency Subcommittee of the Malaysian Oil, Gas and Energy Services Council (MOGSC), contributing to the development of the Knowledge, Ability and Skills (KAS) competency framework for the industry.

Suhail is currently pursuing a PhD at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), where his research examines how organizations leverage digital technologies to achieve sustainability through the lens of Dynamic Capabilities Theory. He holds a Master of Science in Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Secretaryship from the University of Madras.
