Sukitha is a Senior Researcher at LIRNEasia (previously a Researcher, 2024-2025; Junior Researcher, 2022-2023), working primarily on AI governance, misinformation, and survey research. He holds an MA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, Canada, with a specialization in social science research methods (2023-2024). He also holds a BA in Political Science (Honours with Distinction) from the same university (2017-2021). His academic interests broadly concern how attitudes and behaviors vary in response to political information – particularly in the context of misinformation and counter-misinformation operations.
Sukitha previously worked in market research at Leger (Canada, 2025-2026) and Kantar (Sri Lanka, 2021-2022).
Outside of work and academia, Sukitha is a musician, music producer, and composer for visual media.
