Tilan, at LIRNEasia, conducted a survey of production of graduates by private and public Higher Education Institutes (HEI) and a ranking survey of HEIs that offer ICT degrees. In addition, he was involved in a literature review pertaining to information sources used by industries as they innovate and how the sources of information vary with the organizational attributes such as size of the firm, type of business, sector, location, etc. All these projects were done under the supervision of Dr. Sujatha Gamage, a lead scientist at LIRNEasia.
Previously, he worked as a research intern at the Economic Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, Sri Lanka. Further, in 2010, he participated in international conferences such as the third Meeting of the Joint Working Group of BIMSTEC, organised by the Ministry of External Affairs Sri Lanka, and the Seventh South Asian Economics Students’ Meet, organised by the Department of Economics of the University of Colombo.
He holds a BA special degree in Economics from the University of Colombo and a Diploma in International Relations from the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS).
