We have a research internship opportunity open on our qualitative research project on persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Sri Lanka.
The research will be similar to our work on PWDs in Nepal.
If you are:
- Interested in learning qualitative research methodology
- Sensitive to PWD research ethics
- Willing to travel within Sri Lanka for data collection
- Able to undertake thorough literature reviews
- Fluent in written and spoken English AND:
- Fluent in written and spoken Sinhala OR
- Fluent in written and spoken Tamil
We want you to:
- Review the literature on persons with disabilities (PWDs) and assistive technologies
- Collect qualitative data through focus group discussions, focus ethnographic studies, in-depth interviews and key informant interviews in Sri Lanka
- Transcribe and translate (from Sinhala to English and Tamil to English)
- Write a working paper that synthesizes the analysed data
Within a time-frame of three (3) months
Note: This position involves travel within Sri Lanka for data collection
