Consultative meeting with Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) – Event participants

A virtual launch of LIRNEasia research publications on use of ICT and independent living situation of persons with disabilities in Sri Lanka was organised on 21 February 2022 in partnership with Enable Lanka, a network of volunteers working towards mainstreaming disability inclusion in Sri Lanka. The aim of this event was to introduce research reports of this project to the PWD community of the country. Sinhala and Tamil translations of quantitative and qualitative research outputs on Sri Lanka were presented and shared with Disabled Persons Organizations (DPOs) at the event. This event was held via zoom in Sinhala and Tamil along with Sri Lankan Sign Language. Participants were given an opportunity to obtain clarifications and ask questions from the researchers. 
Representatives from National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Sri Lanka Central Federation of the Deaf and The Centre for Disability Research, Education and Practice, University of Colombo were among the 22 organisations which participated.
