Since we run the DRR lecture on a shoestring, there will be no paid media ads. We are grateful for publicity.

If forewarned is forearmed and you are in the NGO sector specifically in DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction) there’s a lecture on Disaster Risk Reduction Public Lecture: Regional Readiness. Disaster risk reduction is the concept and practice of reducing disaster risks through systematic efforts to analyse and reduce the causal factors of disasters. Reducing exposure to hazards, lessening vulnerability of people and property, wise management of land and the environment and improving preparedness and early warning for adverse events are all examples of disaster risk reduction.

The event evaluates the Pacific Region’s aptitude to effectively detect/monitor, unambiguously decide, reliably relay/disseminate, and appropriately respond to all-hazards but with a key focus on tsunamis. The Media and Public will be invited to exchange knowledge with the experts.

They keynote speaker is Dr. Stuart Weinstein who is the Assistant Director Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in USA.
